We have six graduate programmes all offering well-rounded graduates a great start to a career in financial services. The main Graduate Development Programme involves rotations across the whole organisation giving you a real insight in to the FSA's work and the financial services industry and is a great starting point for those wanting to experience the full spectrum of finance. It is the largest programme, with an intake of 40-50 graduates per year. The five specialist schemes take between one and four graduates per year and all involve rotations within their sphere of specialism. All of the schemes also offer a six-month secondment to an external organisation. Use the links on the left to find out more about the individual programmes.
It's ultimately up to you to manage your own career but we'll provide the framework to make sure you get the most out of the scheme. That's why all of our programmes comprise a valuable mix of rotations, secondments and support to gain professional qualifications.
When you join us, you'll receive a comprehensive induction to introduce you to our organisation, our industry and the wider economy. Our aim is to make sure that you rapidly gain the technical knowledge you need to make a contribution. You'll also receive training in key interpersonal skills, including coaching on communicating, presenting, building relationships and influencing others.
An extensive support network will underpin your personal and professional development. Your manager will focus on your day-to-day role and performance objectives, and a mentor will encourage your broader professional development to ensure you make the most of your career. You'll also have a graduate buddy who will help you settle in, while the graduate team will manage your rotations and secondment to ensure you get a breadth of experience during the programme.
In addition we also offer all graduates an ongoing programme of development courses. This is to ensure that our graduates are able to make a full contribution to achieving the strategic objectives of the FSA and make the most of their time on the programme and beyond.
Development courses happen at key points during the year and cover areas such as effective communication, personal impact and effectiveness, secondment and career planning.
We don't believe there is a one size fits all approach for development so our graduates will also have the opportunity to undertake further technical or personal training relevant to the role they are in.
